Biography
Maria is a first-year Ph.D. student in the REdesign Lab with a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico. Her master’s research focused on discovering and characterizing bioactive compounds against human fungal pathogens. She conducted extensive experiments to evaluate the efficacy of potential antifungal compounds and determine their cytotoxicity on mammalian cells.
