We are very proud to announce that Emily Wrona, a Ph.D. student in our lab has been awarded a predoctoral fellowship from the American Heart Association (AHA) beginning in January 2019! Emily’s work focuses on stem cell-derived cardiac cells and interactions with the host immune system.

AHA Predoctoral Statement of Purpose:

“To enhance the integrated research and clinical training of promising students who are matriculated in pre-doctoral or clinical health professional degree training programs and who intend careers as scientists, physician-scientists or other clinician-scientists, or related careers aimed at improving global cardiovascular health.” – AHA
